Baptism

Baptism is a public proclamation that takes what is invisible – our faith – and makes it visible, and as such is an initiation into Christ’s visible church.

We consider baptism a vital step of obedience in the life of every disciple of Christ and will only receive into membership those who have been baptized as believers. At Church of Peniel, we practice water baptism, by immersion, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in accordance with Scripture for those who have believed in Christ and have been born again. It is an outward sign of repentance, our union with Christ in his death and resurrection, our new life in Him, and the washing away of our sins by His blood.
